Our Client are currently looking for Mechanical Engineers to join their growing department in Leeds. The successful candidate will need to have qualifications in Mechanical Engineering. 

Reporting to the Shift Engineering Team Leader, the Mechanical Engineer will provide an effective mechanical engineering service to the team and respond to demands in a timely fashion. The successful candidate will also maintain equipment both proactively and reactively to ensure department performance meets targets and KPIs, as well as improving equipment availability and performance to meet OEE targets. What you will need:
•    Time served as a Mechanical Engineer
•    Relevant qualifications, BTEC, City and Guilds or NVQ L3
•    Service, maintenance and repair experience on a wide range of machinery
•    Self- Motivated and good problem solving skills

  • As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of mechanical systems and equipment at our waste management facility. This role is essential in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of our site and supporting our commitment to environmental sustainability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Mechanical Systems Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
    • Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults to minimise downtime and ensure continuous operation.
    • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns and optimise efficiency.
    • New Installations: Participate in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment and systems.
    • Compliance: Ensure that mechanical systems adhere to safety and environmental regulations and standards.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and mechanical drawings.
    • Emergency Response: Be part of the on-call emergency response team for mechanical issues.
