HGV Technician / Workshop Supervisor

This candidate is a highly experienced HGV Technician and Workshop Supervisor with over 10 years working within commercial vehicle maintenance, fleet operations and workshop leadership environments. Their background combines strong technical diagnostics ability with hands-on supervisory experience managing workshop teams, improving productivity and maintaining high operational standards.

Currently working within a large fleet workshop operation, they are responsible for diagnostics, repairs, MOT preparation and servicing across HGV fleets while also supporting workshop supervision duties. Their experience includes scheduling work, delegating tasks, overseeing technicians and ensuring all repairs are completed efficiently and in line with compliance and safety standards.

A major strength is their strong leadership capability alongside advanced technical knowledge. They have extensive experience mentoring apprentices and technicians, leading training sessions and supporting workshop development around diagnostics, electronics and modern vehicle systems. They are highly organised and comfortable working within fast-paced environments where efficiency and vehicle uptime are critical.

Technically, they are fully IMI Level 3 qualified in both HGV and light vehicle maintenance and also hold qualifications in electric and hybrid vehicle systems. Their knowledge includes advanced diagnostics, MOT standards, DAF systems, workshop IT management and fleet maintenance planning, giving them excellent all-round commercial vehicle expertise.
