HGV Technician

This candidate is a Level 3 qualified HGV Technician with extensive experience across heavy vehicle maintenance, mechanical engineering, inspections and regulated engineering environments. Their background combines hands-on workshop expertise with strong compliance knowledge and advanced fault-finding ability across commercial vehicles and heavy equipment.

They have experience carrying out HGV servicing, inspections, diagnostics and maintenance work within both workshop and field-based engineering environments. Their technical knowledge includes hydraulic, electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis alongside preventative maintenance and repair work to ensure vehicles and equipment remain safe, compliant and operational.

A major strength is their broad engineering background and understanding of regulated environments. Throughout their career they have worked within inspection, compliance and engineering surveyor roles involving LOLER, PUWER and safety-focused maintenance procedures. This has developed excellent analytical skills, strong technical reporting ability and a highly professional approach to workshop standards and vehicle safety.

They also hold IRTEC Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Inspection accreditation alongside multiple specialist engineering and brake system qualifications. Their practical experience spans HGVs, mobile cranes, lifting equipment and heavy haulage vehicles, giving them excellent all-round understanding of commercial vehicle systems and diagnostics.
