About Profile
This candidate is a fully qualified Level 3 HGV Technician with strong experience working across fleet maintenance, municipal vehicles and commercial vehicle workshop environments. Having completed their apprenticeship within a council fleet operation, they have developed excellent all-round workshop knowledge alongside strong diagnostic and maintenance skills across a wide variety of heavy vehicles.
Currently working as an HGV Mechanic within a busy fleet workshop, they carry out servicing, inspections, MOT preparation and repair work across refuse vehicles, sweepers, vans and commercial vehicles. Their experience includes diagnostics and repairs involving braking systems, suspension, steering, hydraulics and electrical faults while ensuring all vehicles remain compliant with VOSA and workshop safety standards.
A major strength is their broad practical knowledge and willingness to continue learning. Over recent years they have become a key technician within their current workshop, particularly with specialist sweeper vehicles, attending additional training courses and developing advanced fault-finding capability within this area.
Alongside their main employment, they have also gained additional hands-on experience carrying out maintenance and repair work on vans and cars including servicing, clutches, engine diagnostics and engine strip-down work. This has helped strengthen their mechanical understanding and adaptability across different vehicle platforms.
Reliable, hardworking and highly motivated, they are keen to continue progressing within the HGV sector and are particularly interested in further development around electric and hybrid vehicle technology. They are now looking for a long-term HGV Technician opportunity offering progression and improved working patterns.
