HGV Technician

This candidate is a fully qualified Level 3 HGV Technician with nearly 10 years’ experience working across heavy vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and workshop leadership environments. Their background combines strong hands-on technical ability with leadership and mentoring experience, making them a highly capable all-round commercial vehicle technician.

Currently working within a large fleet operation, they have progressed into a Lead Technician position where they manage a team of mechanics while overseeing the servicing, inspections and maintenance of a substantial mixed vehicle fleet. Their experience includes fault diagnosis, MOT preparation, repairs and preventative maintenance across both HGV and LCV vehicles within fast-paced workshop environments.

A major strength is their leadership and organisational ability alongside their technical knowledge. They have experience planning workshop activity, supporting team productivity and implementing work planning systems to improve efficiency. They also regularly assist with mentoring junior technicians and training new team members while maintaining high workshop and safety standards.

Technically strong across both electrical and mechanical systems, they are confident carrying out diagnostics, inspections and complex repair work independently while working efficiently under pressure. Their experience working within high-demand operational environments has also developed excellent adaptability, problem-solving skills and the ability to perform consistently in challenging conditions.
